January 15th, 2018 – Batalla strengthens its corporate department with two experienced attorneys from Pacheco Coto. Oswald Bruce and Ignacio Monge move to Batalla as Pacheco Coto integrates with EY Law throughout Central America.

Oswald Bruce, who comes in as a partner in our corporate practice, is a seasoned attorney with more than 20 years of experience. He has advised local and international clients from diverse industries, including consumer goods, energy, telecommunications, real estate and foreign investment, on corporate, consumer protection and alternative dispute resolution matters. At Batalla, he will also lead our Sports and Entertainment practice group, the first of its kind among Costa Rican and regional firms.

The addition of Ignacio Monge as Senior Counsel expands the firm’s advisory and transactional capabilities. Ignacio has significant experience on domestic and cross-border acquisitions and divestitures, franchising, distribution and agency arrangements as well as complex estate planning and a varied array of commercial and company law matters. He complements his client work with a strong commitment to academia and the advancement of Costa Rican business law.
